Program Coordinator
The primary purpose of this position is to plan and implement educational, social, recreational, health-promoting, and inspirational programming, in-person and online, for members of Norris Square Senior Community Center in Philadelphia.
You will:
- Plan, organize, implement and evaluate activities for consumers
- Meet service objectives related to senior center programming.
- Responsible for the fiscal management of senior center programming including the preparation of and adherence to an income budget and spending plan.
- Coordinate the center’s lunch program and collaborate with other center staff as assigned in providing additional food services (e.g., breakfast/coffee/snacks, commodity food distribution, food pantry services).
- Orient, train, and supervise senior center aides, students, and volunteers as directed by the Senior Center Manager.
- Prepare monthly program calendar, newsletter and other outreach materials.
- Participate in marketing and outreach efforts to build the senior center participant base.
- Consult with and work with Center’s Social Service Coordinator to meet needs.
- Prepare and maintain internal CHCS reports, PCA reports, and all related documentation.
- Responsible to be knowledgeable and to implement the Mission and Philosophy of the Archdiocese and organization within the scope of responsibility.
- Treat all consumers/clients/participants, staff, volunteers, visitors, and community partners with dignity and respect.
You should:
- Have an Associate’s degree, or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Have at least two (2) years of additional education or experience in a related field or position (e.g., gerontology, human/social services, event planning)
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office, data entry, and social media use.
- Be able to facilitate groups and to function as part of a team.
- Bilingual, English and Spanish.
