Job Overview
The Missionary Hub Director is responsible for overseeing the operations, programs, and strategic vision of a missionary hub. This role involves developing and supporting missionaries, volunteer service coordinators and communication coordinators, fostering community partnerships, and mobilizing resources to advance the mission of the Church of Philadelphia spreading the gospel and serving communities locally. The director will lead a team, coordinate training initiatives, and act as the primary liaison between the hub and Parish Staff. The person in this role will report to the Pastor and in collaboration with the Strategy Office.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategy
- Develop and implement a strategic plan to expand the reach and effectiveness of the missionary hub.
- Provide spiritual leadership and vision to inspire staff, volunteers, and missionaries.
- Collaborate with Parish leadership, other agencies of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, and local organizations to align efforts with the Archdiocesan mission.
Missionary Development and Support
- Recruit, train, and mentor missionaries to ensure they are spiritually, emotionally, and practically prepared for their assignments.
- Establish ongoing communication and support systems for missionaries in the field.
- Create and oversee programs for missionary training, cultural adaptation, and personal development.
Operational Management
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the hub including hub staff, budgets, and logistics.
- Ensure financial sustainability of programs and projects.
- Maintain accurate records and reports to measure impact and accountability.
Community Engagement and Mobilization
- Build partnerships with the wider local community and organizations to create opportunities for collaboration.
- Develop programs and events to engage the local community in mission work.
- Mobilize volunteers and resources to support missionary initiatives.
Spiritual Oversight
- Facilitate regular times of prayer, worship, and spiritual growth for staff and missionaries.
- Provide pastoral care and counseling to individuals involved in the missionary hub.
- Uphold and promote the core values and principles of the Catholic Church.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in theology, missions, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mission-oriented work, ministry leadership, or nonprofit management.
- Experience in cross-cultural settings and understanding of global missions is essential.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Financial and project management expertise.
- Passion for serving diverse communities.
- Ability to handle complex challenges with grace and adaptability.
- A committed follower of Christ with a lifestyle that reflects biblical values.
- Agreement with the doctrinal statement and mission of the Catholic Church.
