Group Leader - Out of School Time (OST)
Job purpose
The Group Leader will implement and lead all daily OST/21st CCLC program activities in the after-school and summer programs for assigned age group. This includes supervising, mentoring, and engaging school age youth in all programmatic activities. Also responsible for the preparation and distribution of snacks/meals to students and facilitating social, educational, and cultural group activities and is also responsible for implementing specific Project Based Learning (PBL) and 21st CCLC activities daily.
Duties and responsibilities
Focuses on, but is not limited to:
- Walks the children from the school to the OST program
- Distributes snacks to the children
- Assists children with homework and special projects
- Plans and implements project based learning (PBL) projects
- Structures activities projects
- Engages with all the children in the OST program
- Interacts with the parents on a daily basis
- Participates in sports, arts and crafts, and physical fitness activities with children
- Cleans up the area after activities are completed
- Responsible for general cleanliness of the classroom
- Responsible for sign in and sign out sheets
- Responsible for any communication correspondence with the families
- Puts equipment away at the end of the day
- Locks classrooms and designated areas of use
Qualifications
- Education
- Must have a High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- Safe Environment training and Mandated Reporter training
