POSITION CHARACTERISTICS

This is a responsible position. All work requires high levels of accountability and responsibility. Tact, discretion, and initiative are requisite. Skills are performed at a high relative level. The chance för error and the consequences thereof are high.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This staff person will work closely and with others in the school and summer meals team and well as sitc staff. Specific duties will vary throughout the calendar year based on the deadlines and workflow of NSLP and SSO. Principal areas of responsibility are:

Eligibility:

Includes all tasks related to child specific eligibility at the 100+ school sites NDS sponsors. It includes access to confidential information, so discretion and confidentiality is required.

Inventory Management and Other Reports:

Includes a variety of tasks related to the functions of the Data Management Department such as receiving and analyzing inventory data, approving the purchase of program POS equipment, processing the Edit Check Worksheets, preparing invoices, and processing Special Milk reports. Monitors, identifies, and resolves problems related to daily meal counts.

Summer Reports:

Includes checking and processing weekly summer meals reports and delivery tickets received from sites to process for the claim.

School and Summer Site Support:

Includes answering the phone, taking food orders, assisting sites with day-to-day problems, supporting schools using PrimeroEdge and ExpressPoint, running reports to determine site compliance, and visiting sites to provide additional support or training.

Training:

Includes participation in large group and individualized training as well as assisting in preparing training materials related to the Data Management Department.

General:

  • Perform tasks as assigned by Administrator-Internal Compliance NSLP/SSO
  • Assures the appropriate use of NDS property.
  • Responsible for knowledge of and compliance with applicable:

NDS policies, guidelines, and regulations

Secretariat and Archdiocesan policies, guidelines, and regulations

  • Completes detail-oriented tasks under strict deadlines.
  • Provide feedback to other staff regarding site compliance and problems.

REPRESENTATIVE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Have a thorough knowledge of applicable program related federal and state regulations.

Have a general understanding of school and summer site operations. Bc able to relate well to people.

  • Be able to communicate and train those with limited educational levels and abilities.

Be computer literate in Excel, Word, and Access

  • Possess excellent verbal communication and professional writing skills.
  • Possess excellent math skills.
  • Be detail oriented with an aptitude for numbers.
  • Have ability to analyze data, possess critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
  • Have public speaking skills.
  • Have ability to prioritize a variety of deadlines, demands, and projects

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Undergraduate degree- accounting or math preferred.

Be able to climb stairs.

  • Be able to lift and carry 30 lb. boxes.
  • Fluent in a second language is a plus.
  • Maintain current ServSafe certificate and complete required annual trainings as assigned.
