REPORTS TO: Assistant Director of Family and Community Services

ORGANIZATIONAL UNIT: Catholic Charities of Philadelphia/Casa del Carmen

CLASSIFICATION: Exempt

 

Major Responsibilities

The Administrator is responsible for the development and oversight of governmental and privately funded programs that are in response to the needs of the community while upholding the dignity and welfare of the individuals and families served.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, and ensure delivery of services aligned with best practices, agency philosophy, and all licensing/accreditation requirements.
  • Oversee daily operations of centers and programs of Casa del Carmen, the Cenacle at the Padre Pio Center and Casa del Carmen Preschool Academy. Responsible for compliance and adherence to contractual obligations with governmentally funded programs.
  • Provide direct supervision to the Preschool Academy Director, Family Navigators, Program Coordinator and Office Manager, facilitating regular staff meetings for communication, problem-solving, and strategic planning.
  • Prepare timely internal/external reports; attend provider meetings; ensure compliance with quality improvement standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist the Assistant Director for Family and Community Services in the development of the facility’s budget, oversee fee collection and billing, and maintain fiscal accountability.
  • Identify and pursue potential funding opportunities; write proposals; build and maintain partnerships with community agencies and public officials.
  • Coordinate new employee orientation and ongoing training; evaluate staff performance; make personnel decisions and recommendations.
  • Contribute to Catholic Charities of Philadelphia’s strategic planning; stay informed on legislation and best practices impacting programs.
  • Other Duties: Participate in divisional management meetings, specialized committees, and perform additional tasks as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of and orientation to the philosophy of Catholic Charities of Philadelphia as presented in the Mission Statement.
  • Knowledge of the principles of program and facility administration including program management, maintenance, security, health and safety, budget and expense control, and organizational development.
  • Knowledge of the basic principles and practices of social work administration.
  • Ability to prepare and present oral and written reports.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other Agency Administrators, other Archdiocesan offices, regulatory agencies, and other public and private agencies; cultural sensitivity and ability to relate well and effectively in a diverse workplace and with a diverse client population.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field of study and 3-5 years of Supervisory experience. Master’s Degree preferred.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Must be mobile and able to bend, stoop and moderately life (up to 30 pounds)
  • Must be able to sit/stand at a workstation or computer screen for up to 2 hours at a time.
  • Must be able to sit/stand at both indoors and outdoors events for up to 2 hours at a time.
