Position Summary
The Archdiocese of Philadelphia seeks a dynamic and mission-driven professional to coordinate the Catholic Charities Appeal (CCA), the Church’s flagship Annual Appeal that sustains vital ministries and services across our five-county region.
The Annual Giving Coordinator in the Office of Stewardship & Development at the Archdiocese of Philadelphia is tasked with coordinating efforts to conduct the archdiocese annual appeal. This position works directly with the Database Management Administrator, reports to the Chief of Staff – Stewardship & Development and plays a crucial role in ensuring the success of the annual fundraising initiatives.
The ideal candidate will combine strategic thinking, exceptional communication skills, and deep alignment with the mission of the Church to inspire generosity and strengthen the Appeal’s reach and impact.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage all aspects of the Catholic Charities Appeal (CCA), including planning, execution, monitoring, and follow-up, to ensure the campaign’s success in advancing the mission and ministries of the Church.
- Collaborate with development teams to support the planning and implementation of Archdiocesan appeals, campaigns, initiatives, and related projects, including assistance with communications, events, and donor engagement activities.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase Annual Appeal participation and enhance donor engagement and retention.
- Collaborate with parishes, schools, and other Archdiocesan entities to promote the Annual Appeal and other campaigns, ensuring consistent and mission-aligned messaging.
- Assist in the creation and distribution of Annual Appeal materials, including direct mail, email campaigns, social media content, and other promotional communications.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of online giving pages for the Annual Appeal and related campaigns, ensuring accuracy, functionality, and a positive donor experience.
- Organize and coordinate Annual Appeal events, such as donor recognition gatherings, stewardship activities, and informational sessions.
- Monitor and analyze campaign performance metrics, providing regular updates and recommendations to the Chief of Staff - Stewardship & Development.
- Coordinate with the Database Management Administrator to ensure accurate donor data, timely reporting, and effective recordkeeping for the Annual Appeal.
- Respond to donor inquiries and provide excellent customer service to ensure a positive donor experience.
- Works with the Donor Relations Coordinator, and other development staff, to manage campaign calendars and ensure alignment across initiatives.
- Collaborate with Archdiocesan development, marketing, and communications teams to create compelling, donor-centered content for all solicitation and stewardship efforts, including personalized acknowledgment letters, thank-you notes, and other donor communications.
- Assist in developing strategies for integrating messaging across digital and print channels to ensure a consistent and cohesive donor experience.
- Assist in developing and managing a year-round Annual Giving Plan incorporating direct mail, online giving, parish-based appeals, and donor stewardship.
- Manage vendors and coordinate project deliverables to ensure quality and timeliness.
- Coordinate volunteer and parish ambassadors to support Annual Appeal outreach and parish engagement.
- Maintain confidentiality of donor information and adhere to all data protection regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as communications, marketing, nonprofit management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in fundraising, development, or a related field.
- Firsthand experience with, and understanding of, Raiser’s Edge (NXT preferred) is required, including proficiency in queries, exports, reports, and donor segmentation.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and familiarity with other relevant technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and resolve issues effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Catholic stewardship principles.
Working Conditions
- This is a full-time position with standard office hours.
- Some evening and weekend work may be required, particularly during peak Appeal periods.
- A valid driver’s license and proof of insurance are required.
- Occasional travel within the archdiocese for meetings and events.
Physical Requirements
- The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle objects or controls, reach with arms, climb stairs, and talk or hear.
- Must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies up to 25 lbs.
