SUMMARY
Under the oversight of the Administrative Director and Vocation Director, the Program & Outreach Coordinator for the Vocation Office for the Diocesan Priesthood (hereafter, ‘Office’) is responsible for the management, implementation, execution, and oversight of multiple outreach programs/events sponsored by the Vocation Office for the Diocesan Priesthood.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Working under the direction of the Vocation Director and Administrative Director, implement and execute outreach programs/events needed to achieve the mission of the Vocation Office. These programs/events, envisioned in conjunction with the Vocation Director and Administrative Director, include, but are not limited to, camps for middle school and high school men, discernment programs, and young adult gatherings/retreats.
- In conjunction with the Administrative Director, assist in developing a budget for each outreach program/event, helping to maintain income and expenses throughout each program/event and providing a summary at the completion of each program/event.
- For all outreach programs/events, develop, maintain and/or update project plan/task lists, thereby ensuring that the planning, set up and execution of said programs/events are completed in a timely manner, with all agreed upon deadlines achieved. For each program/event, these tasks include, but are not limited to, schedules, registration material, correspondence, flyers, program-related meetings, and agendas/schedules.
- Develop a marketing campaign for each program/event. Working with the Administrative Director, ensure that all marketing material – including, but not limited to, phone calls, flyers, and online outreach (including social media and website) - is developed and distributed in a timely manner.
- Assist Administrative Director in development of print and electronic materials designed to promote vocations to the priesthood.
- Organize and prepare all discerner-related programs/events such as Come & See Weekends, Days/Nights of Discernment, St. Andrew Dinners, etc. including but not limited to, developing materials, registration details, lodging/meal needs, marketing and finances.
- Assist as requested in the design, preparation, and creation of vocation resources for parishes, colleges, high schools, and grade schools.
- Serve as the Vocation Office liaison with the Office for Ministry with Young Adults for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
- Maintain regular and strong contact with the Office for Ministry with Youth, Office for Ministry with Young Adults, Office for Catechetical Formation and Office of Catholic Education, as well as other youth and young adult-related/vocation-oriented offices/organizations, both within and outside the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
- Be onsite for all outreach programs/events.
- Other duties as assigned.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Practicing Catholic, registered in a Catholic parish with the ability to obtain a Letter of Good Standing from his/her Pastor, who embraces in word and deed the Church's teachings on faith and morals as articulated by the Church's magisterium.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to take direction.
- Detail-oriented and ability to multi-task and work independently.
- Above average computer literacy/aptitude/organization skills.
- Demonstrate dynamic interpersonal skills.
- Awareness and sensitivity to cultural diversity of program participants, staff, volunteers and seminary applicants.
- Has knowledge of, and familiarity with, marketing strategies and a keen eye for professional marketing.
- Ability to establish, cultivate, and maintain good relationships with staff and colleagues.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and seminarians.
- Ability to work within the established budget for each program/event.
- Mature, positive individual with a vision for ministry.
- Demonstrates ability to work a flexible schedule (i.e. available on evenings and weekends.).
- Respect and love for the Catholic priesthood.
- The ability to work a flexible schedule, including some nights and weekends.
Education and Experience
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Strong working knowledge of the Catholic faith.
- Ideal candidate has proficiency in computer/technical skills (Microsoft Office 365, Windows, Adobe Acrobat, social media marketing, email marketing, Hubspot, Canva, etc.)
- Ideal candidate will have experience in program management and church ministry.
- Preference for candidates who have worked with young people/youth ministry.
