Mission

As a ministry and agency of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and Catholic Charities of Philadelphia (CCoP), Nutritional Development Services (NDS), through its staff, is to treat members of the community with compassion and respect.  They are to bring the mission of the Church to serve those in need, particularly those experiencing food insecurity.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all community-based anti-hunger food resource programs provided by the agency.
  • Identify and develop innovative strategies to address community nutritional needs.
  • Serve as an official representative of NDS, promoting its programs and services to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead community engagement initiatives to expand NDS’s presence and impact across the five-county service area.
  • Strengthen and maintain strategic relationships to ensure NDS programs are effectively received and supported by partners and participants.

Qualifications

  • Must have an Undergraduate degree, Graduate degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) is required, with the ability to create and manage documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and email communications effectively.
  • Have a minimum of five years’ experience in administration and/or leadership positions.
  • Have a valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for business use.
  • Strong understanding of Health and Nutrition preferred.

  • Promote all NDS programs.
  • Speak in public and before mass media.        .
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Respond quickly to and resolve needs of the agency.

Working conditions

  • This is a "Highly Responsible" position and key part of NDS executive team.  All work requires highest levels of accountability and responsibility.  Tact, discretion, and initiative are requisite.  Skills are performed at the highest relative level.
  • Attend evening and weekend activities that require NDS presence.
  • The candidate must be a practicing Roman Catholic, committed to living the Catholic faith and upholding the teachings and values of the Church in both personal conduct and professional responsibilities.

Physical requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tool or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear.  The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and food, up to 25 lbs.
