Job Title: Youth/Young Adult Minister
Location: Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Lansdale, PA
Position Type: Full-time salaried position requiring Sunday and Monday afternoon/evenings
Create and execute opportunities for faith formation and encounter with Christ for youth in grades 7-12 and young adults ages 18-39. The Candidate must have a passion for Jesus, His Catholic Church and forming disciples for the New Evangelization.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee comprehensive youth ministry for 7th-12th grade and young adults
18-39 years of age
- Organizes and facilitates curriculum development and implementation of the following:
- weekly Sunday evening high school gatherings
- weekly Monday afternoon and evening religious education for 7th grade
- regular young adult gatherings (Montgomery County Metanoia Young Adults)
- support and supervision of adult volunteers and peer leaders
- small group gatherings as desired/requested (i.e., faith sharing or Bible Study)
- Collaborate with DRE in executing faith formation for 7th and 8th grade
- Oversee the necessities of the Sunday 6:00 PM Mass (Altar Servers, Music Ministry, Greeters, Lectors, Gift bearers, etc.)
- Plan and organize social outreach events for youth and young adults in the parish
- Yearly budget and fundraising needs for all areas of Youth and Young Adult Ministry
- Work with the current Core team in recruiting for all youth ministry programs both volunteers and youth (includes directing ongoing catechetical, spiritual and pastoral training)
- Attend students' extracurricular events and execute other means for outreach relational ministry
- Oversee the planning and coordinating of retreats, conferences, camps, mission trips and other trips (i.e. Steubenville, Mid-Year Retreat, and 8th Grade/High School NET Retreats)
- Update and maintain Social Media Outreach
- Collaborate with Archdiocesan Offices for Ministry with Youth/Young Adults
Qualifications:
- Practicing Catholic in good standing with strong commitment to Catholic teachings, values, and traditions and willingness to implement ministry models found in Pope Francis’ Christus Vivit and USCCB’s Framework of Listen, Teach, Send
- Bachelor’s degree in Theology or Religious Education or 3-5 years’ experience working in a Youth/Young Adult Ministry environment
- Ability to pass PA clearances and comply with all Archdiocesan Safe Environment policies
- Familiar with Microsoft Office, Google Drive/OneDrive, Social Media (Instagram, Facebook, Website, Flocknote, TikTok) GroupMe, Canva and Microsoft ClipChamp
- Valid drivers’ license, motor vehicle, and willingness to transport teens as needed
- Ability to safely use stairs and lift 20 – 30 lbs. or delegate as needed
- Play guitar, piano, or sing preferred but not required
