Job Description

Mater Dei Catholic School, rooted in the hallmarks of Faith, Excellence, Service, and Community, is currently seeking a qualified and compassionate educator to serve as a full-time Learning Resource Room Teacher for Grades 5 through 8 in English Language Arts and Mathematics for the 2025-2026 school year.

• Targeted Instructional Support: Provide small-group instruction in both ELA and Math to students in Grades 5–8 in a dedicated Learning Resource Room setting.
• Accommodation Program Oversight: Coordinate and monitor student accommodations, including the creation, documentation, and implementation of individualized strategies in collaboration with classroom teachers.
• Collaborative Culture: Partner regularly with classroom teachers, fellow Learning Resource Room faculty, and school administration to design and deliver effective support plans for students.
• Data-Driven Decision Making: Track student progress, maintain up-to-date records, and use data to inform instruction and communicate clearly with families and teacher teams.
• Technology Integration: Leverage instructional technology—including iPads, SMARTBoards, and Chromebooks—to personalize learning and reinforce classroom content.
• Professional Development Support: Take advantage of Mater Dei’s Seat of Wisdom Scholarship Program, which offers tuition reimbursement for advanced degrees or certifications in education, special education, or related fields.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field; certification in Special Education or as a Reading Specialist is strongly preferred.
• Prior experience working in a resource room, special education, or intervention support setting.
• Familiarity with the needs of upper elementary and middle school learners and the ability to develop age-appropriate academic supports.
