Position: Part-time Cook

Catholic Housing and Community Services is currently seeking a Part-time Cook for Saint Mary's Residence in the Society Hill neighborhood of Philadelphia.

Primary Purpose of Job: Prepare pleasing, nutritious meals for 35-40 elderly residents. Clean kitchen, steam table, dishes, all pots and pans and utensils. Supervise volunteer residents. Willing to substitute when necessary. Other duties as assigned.

Hours: Mondays and Tuesdays, 8:30am to 6:30pm

(The two days per week may be negotiable.)

Essential Job Functions:

• Prepare, cook, and serve daily meals for 35-40 residents daily.
• Clean prep, cooking, and serving areas, equipment, dishes, utensils, etc.
• Assist with receiving deliveries of food and supplies. Monitor temperatures.
• Monitor volunteers who assist with cleaning and resetting dining room.
• Provide input for menu planning.

Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge of food safety, food preparation and presentation. Ability to follow recipes.
• English speaking.

• High School degree.
• Safe Serve certification preferred but not required.
